Better Choices Boo Basket Ideas for Kids
I love making Boo Baskets for my kids, but I don’t necessarily want to fill them with a bunch of candy and little plastic toys that we’ll be throwing away two weeks later. 😂
So this year, I’m going with things that still feel fun and festive for Halloween, but that my kids will actually eat, wear, play with or keep using once October is over.
Here’s what I’d put inside.
Halloween Trick-or-Treat Bag
Skip the traditional basket and put everything inside a trick-or-treat bag they can actually use on Halloween night. Fill it with all their goodies, tie on the free Boo tag, and you're done. One less random basket to figure out where to store afterward. 😂

Something festive they’ll actually wear! Grab a pair just for the kids, or go all in and get a matching set for the whole family.
Fall Coloring Book + Crayons
Honestly, a fall coloring book is a good addition for kids or adults. 😂 Pair it with a nice set of crayons and you have an easy little screen-free activity for a cozy afternoon at home.
Spooky MAGNA-TILES
Halloween-themed without being a Halloween toy that gets forgotten about November 1st. The spooky microMAGS set feels special for the basket, but they can mix them in with their other MAGNA-TILES and keep playing with them all year.
MadeGood Treats
You can’t make a Boo Basket without adding something yummy. 😂 These are an easy little treat to tuck inside without filling the entire basket with Halloween candy.

Something cozy to finish it off. A Halloween blanket is perfect for movie nights, reading on the couch or curling up with their new book — and you can bring it back out every fall.

Pick a few favorites and give them something cozy, something yummy, something to do and something they’ll actually keep using.
