We love a good Disney trip, and as annual pass holders we try to sneak up for little getaways every once in a while.

Our typical trip is planned around staying at a monorail hotel, and I promise you — IT IS VERY WORTH IT when you have a baby and a toddler. It also makes packing for the parks feel so much less stressful because you know your room and everything you left behind are only a few minutes away.

We’re also not huge on eating out, and honestly, we’re not really big Disney-food people either. I’m the mom who is grocery shopping before we arrive, grabbing a case of water for the hotel room, snacks for our park bags, and even groceries for simple meal prep that can be stored in the mini fridge.

Most of my tips are geared toward shorter 2–3 day Disney stays, because that’s typically what we do, but they can absolutely work for longer trips too.

If you are staying longer, one of my biggest tips is to have a grocery delivery sent to the hotel when you arrive. It takes so much pressure off and keeps you from paying park prices for every snack and drink.

Fresh Fruit Is Always in My Bag

One of my go-to things to pack is fresh fruit. It’s perfect on its own, easy for the kids to grab, and also works really well with yogurt and granola for a quick breakfast or snack

.

I usually prep everything at home and pack it into my snackle box because it is so much easier to wash, cut, and portion fruit in your own kitchen than it is in a hotel room.

I typically pack:

  • grapes, already chopped using my OXO grape cutter

  • raspberries

  • blueberries

  • strawberries

  • bananas

  • oranges

I Also Pack Charcuterie-Style Snacks

My kids aren’t very picky, so I also add a few charcuterie-style items to the snackle box.

Things like:

That gives us a mix of fruit, protein, and things the kids genuinely enjoy, without needing to stop for food every time someone says they’re hungry.

Easy Breakfasts We Can Make in the Hotel

I love bringing a bag of granola to pair with a tub of yogurt and the fruit from my snackle box. It makes for such an easy breakfast and feels a lot better than starting the day with something super heavy.

For make-ahead breakfast options, I’ll also prep egg bites or boiled eggs before we leave. Protein balls are another favorite because they’re easy to pack, take up almost no space, and work as either a snack or a quick breakfast boost.

Lunches I Prep Ahead

For lunch, chicken salad sandwiches or wraps are always a win for us.

I’ll make the chicken salad ahead of time and then just grab bread or wraps from the grocery store. We’re not big deli-meat people, so chicken salad is usually my go-to. I even like making it with plain Greek yogurt instead of mayo for a slightly lighter version.

It stores really well in the hotel mini fridge and makes lunch super easy.

Pasta salad, quinoa salad, bean salad, or really any hearty salad is another great make-ahead option. I personally prefer those over lettuce-based salads for Disney days because they travel better and actually feel filling.

Snacks I Always Pack

I also bring a few easy snacks that I know everyone will eat:

  • protein bars

  • LesserEvil cheddar puffs

  • Simple Mills graham crackers

  • fruit rolls made with just fruit

I like having a mix of things that feel filling, things that are easy to toss in a park bag, and snacks the kids are genuinely excited to eat.

Drinks & Staying Hydrated

I always pack our Sava electrolyte packets. We really don’t do a lot of juice boxes, and quite honestly, my kids prefer the electrolytes anyway. I call them “juice,” so it’s basically a win-win. 😂

They help us stay hydrated and feel much more prepared for the Florida heat — especially if you’re brave enough to tackle Disney in the middle of summer. Ahem… July birthday Disney trip over here.

I also always pack our YETI bottles and fill them at the hotel with the bottled water I’ve already stocked from the grocery store. There is no reason to overpay for water in the parks when you can keep a full case in your room and just grab what you need before heading out for the day.

We Still Eat at Disney Too

Don’t get me wrong — we definitely eat at Disney for a meal or two, and my husband and kids are absolutely going to pick up a treat in the parks. 😂

But for the most part, we try to eat what we bring for both budget and health reasons.

It saves us a surprising amount of money, keeps everyone from getting hangry while we’re waiting in line for food, and lets me feel a little better about what we’re eating over the course of the trip.

For us, Disney is way more enjoyable when food is easy, familiar, and already taken care of.

And that’s really the whole strategy: prep a few things ahead, grocery shop smart, pack what your family actually eats, and save the Disney food for the things you really want to enjoy.
