Why I’m Using the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper Again for Baby #3

The newborn sleep setup I wish I had figured out the first time around.
When I had my first baby, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when it came to sleep.
Did I need a bassinet?
A crib?
A crib that would eventually convert into a toddler bed?
A pack-and-play?
All of the above?
Honestly, I had no clue. 😂
I ended up buying the Nuna pack-and-play setup that included a bassinet and could later convert for use as baby got older. I actually really loved the product itself.
My daughter, however, had other plans.
She would not sleep in it.
So by the time baby #2 came around, I knew I wanted something different.
And that’s when I found the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper.
The Newborn Sleep Setup That Finally Made Sense to Me
The Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper has incredibly good reviews, and after using one myself, I completely understand why.
It’s lightweight enough that I can move it easily, but it still feels sturdy and substantial.
What I love most is that it can sit right beside the bed, so baby can be close while still having a separate sleep space.
For those newborn weeks, that setup just makes so much sense to me.
I can easily see baby, reach over when needed, and still have my own space in bed.
I Love the Mesh Sides
The clear mesh sides are another huge reason I love it.
I like being able to see baby without having to constantly sit up and peer into a deep bassinet.
The breathable mesh design also makes the whole thing feel much more open and visible, which I personally find reassuring during those early newborn nights.
The Storage Is SO Useful
The bottom storage is one of those features that sounds minor until you actually have a newborn.
I keep things like:
extra swaddles
diapers
burp cloths
backup sheets
little nighttime essentials
right underneath.
It basically becomes a tiny newborn command center next to the bed.
And when you’re waking up multiple times a night, having everything within arm’s reach is incredibly convenient.
IT HAS WHEELS 😂
This might be my favorite part.
It has wheels.
Actual wheels.
We lived in a one-story home when I used it, so in the morning we could literally wheel the entire co-sleeper out of the bedroom and into whatever room we were spending time in.
Then at night?
Wheel it right back.
I loved being able to keep baby nearby without constantly moving them between different sleep spaces.
If I was in the living room, baby could be nearby.
If I was doing something in another part of the house, the co-sleeper could come with me.
It was so simple.
And honestly, this is probably part of the reason I never really understood the baby-monitor obsession. 😂
My babies were usually close enough that I could see or hear them anyway.
Function Over Pretty
Is the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper the prettiest bassinet on the market?
Absolutely not. 😂
There are definitely more beautiful bassinets.
There are minimalist bassinets.
There are gorgeous woven bassinets.
There are bassinets that probably look much better sitting next to a perfectly styled bed.
But when it comes to newborn gear, I’ve learned that I care way more about function than whether something photographs beautifully.
And function is where this thing wins for me.
It’s lightweight.
It’s sturdy.
It has mesh sides.
It has storage.
It rolls.
Baby can stay close.
And I actually used it constantly.
Why I’m Using It Again for Baby #3
By the time you get to baby #3, you stop feeling the need to reinvent every single thing.
If something worked beautifully before, I’m using it again.
And the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper is absolutely one of those products.
I already know how it fits into our routine.
I know I like having baby close during those early weeks.
I know I’ll use the storage.
And I already know those wheels are going to get a workout. 😂
There is no reason for me to start searching for the newest, prettiest bassinet just because something newer exists.
This one works.
Is the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper Worth It?
For our family, yes.
I went into my first pregnancy overwhelmed by all of the newborn sleep options and came out of my second knowing exactly what I preferred.
The Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper gave me a simple bedside setup that was practical, easy to move around our home, and genuinely useful during those first weeks.
It may not be the bassinet I’d choose based purely on looks.
But if I’m choosing based on what I actually want beside my bed with a newborn?
This is the one.
And for baby #3, I’m happily pulling it right back out.
