Gifts Your Pregnant Friend Will Actually Use

Thoughtful gifts for the mom-to-be from a mom-to-be 🤎

Pregnancy is such a special season, but if I’m being honest, most of the gifts we receive tend to focus on the baby.

And while baby items are exciting, I think sometimes the mom deserves to be celebrated too.

As someone currently expecting baby #3, I’ve been thinking a lot about the gifts that actually feel meaningful during pregnancy. After two babies, I have a much better idea of the things that make pregnancy, postpartum, and those early newborn days a little easier.

These are a few gifts I would genuinely love to receive — practical, thoughtful, and focused on making mom feel cared for.

I know this one might seem like a funny gift at first… but hear me out. 😂

A portable bidet is one of those things that becomes incredibly useful, especially postpartum.

It’s simple, practical, and something many moms don’t think to buy for themselves before they need it.

I also love that it’s easy to pack for travel or keep on hand when you’re away from home.

Honestly, once I switched I never looked back. I will have a permanent bidet toilet in my new construction home.

A Little Self-Care

Pregnancy is beautiful, but it can also be exhausting.

A thoughtful gift doesn’t always have to be something physical. Sometimes the best gift is giving a mom-to-be permission to take care of herself.

Ideas:

  • manicure

  • pedicure

  • massage

  • acupuncture

  • yoga class

These are the gifts that remind her she matters too.

A Photo Book Subscription

This is one of my favorite sentimental gifts.

After my first baby was born, I started printing Chatbooks every month, and I still love looking back through them.

With how quickly kids grow, having those everyday moments printed feels so special.

This is a gift that keeps giving long after pregnancy is over. I continue to print monthly books even 4 years later.

Pregnancy thirst is REAL. 😂

A quality water bottle is something she’ll use every single day.

I love having a large water bottle nearby because staying hydrated is so much easier when you don’t have to constantly refill.

Look for something:

  • easy to carry

  • durable

  • large enough to actually get enough water throughout the day

A simple gift that feels surprisingly luxurious.

Fuzzy, grippy socks are perfect for:

  • hospital stays

  • pregnancy comfort

  • chilly nights

  • postpartum recovery

Sometimes the smallest comforts are the things you appreciate most.

I wear mine every night!

This might be one of the most underrated gifts for a pregnant mom.

There are plenty of days during pregnancy when cooking feels like the last thing you want to do — and those early newborn days are even busier.

A meal delivery gift card is practical, thoughtful, and actually gets used.

Along the same lines, anything that removes a task from her plate is a win.

Whether it’s groceries arriving at the door or dinner showing up after a long day, sometimes the best gift is simply making life easier.

Skip the Pregnancy Pillow… Get Her a Pillow She’ll Actually Love

This one might be controversial, but I’m going to say it: skip the giant pregnancy pillow unless she specifically wants one. 😂

If she doesn’t already have one, there’s a good chance she may not want one.

Personally, I hated mine.

I bought one during my first pregnancy thinking it was going to be the magical solution to getting comfortable, but it was bulky, took up half the bed, and honestly just wasn’t that comfortable for me. I ended up ditching it long before my pregnancy was over.

When I was dealing with some pretty bad neck issues, I started asking around for recommendations for the most comfortable pillow. I was desperate enough that I finally gave in and bought what felt like a ridiculously expensive pillow, thinking, “If it actually works, it’ll be worth it.”

And wow… it was.

It is genuinely the best pillow I’ve ever owned.

It’s definitely a luxury gift, but it’s one of those items where you realize you spend so much of your life sleeping that a good pillow is actually worth the investment.

It has become the pillow everyone tries to steal in our house — and somehow I’m always the one fighting to get it back. 😂

A comfortable pillow may not seem like the most exciting pregnancy gift, but good sleep and comfort during pregnancy are priceless.

*If your friend is a vegan or isn't into feathered pillows definitely skip this gift!

A comfortable outfit is something every pregnant mom will appreciate.

My favorite pregnancy outfits have always been things that are:

  • oversized

  • comfortable

  • easy to wear before and after pregnancy

A good lounge set or jumpsuit can become a daily uniform during pregnancy and postpartum.

My favorite that I wear constantly is Free People's Hot Shot Onesie.

A classic for a reason.

A comfortable pair of slippers is something she can enjoy:

  • during pregnancy

  • in the hospital

  • during those newborn nights

  • long after baby arrives

A gift that keeps giving. My favorite's I wear everyday are the UGG Scuffette slipper.

The Best Gifts Are Often the Ones That Care for Mom

Baby gifts are wonderful, but I think there is something extra special about reminding a mom-to-be that she is cared for too.

The best gifts don’t always have to be expensive.

Sometimes it’s:

  • making her life easier

  • helping her rest

  • creating a special memory

  • reminding her she’s supported

These are the gifts I would personally be excited to receive during this season of life. 🤎
