After two babies, these are the products that actually earned a third round.

By baby number three, I’ve realized how much baby stuff we simply did not need the first time around. 😂

After using baby gear through two kids, I’m much more selective about what earns a place in our home. I know what actually got used, what held up, what made life easier, and what I’m perfectly happy pulling back out instead of buying all over again.

These are the things that made the cut for baby #3.

Quick Shop: What I’m Reusing for Baby #3

Bugaboo Donkey 5

Our biggest baby splurge and still one of my favorite purchases almost five years later. It survived two kids and is officially coming back for #3.

Bugaboo Turtle Air by Nuna Infant Car Seat

We already own it, it works with our stroller setup, and ours is still within its usable date—so there’s no reason for us to start over with a new travel system.

Solly Baby Wrap

One of my favorites for that tiny, snuggly newborn stage.

Sakura Bloom Carriers

I’ve kept my Ring Sling and Onbuhimo because I use different carriers at different ages and for different outings.

Mabe Monarch Carrier

Probably my favorite carrier when I want something simple to put on and take off.

Arm’s Reach Clear-Vue Co-Sleeper

A simple newborn sleep setup that keeps baby close, plus I love being able to roll it around the house for naps.

Boppy Nursing Pillow

Simple, comfortable, and something I reach for constantly during the newborn stage. Also, great as baby gets bigger to sit and have tummy time with.

Coterie Diapers + Wipes

We used them through babies #1 and #2 and will be using them again for #3. We’ve had a great experience with the fit and absorption, and the subscription makes one recurring baby task ridiculously easy.

HALO Swaddles + Sleep Sacks

Simple, practical, easy to use, and ours have held up through multiple babies.

Hatch Sound Machine

One of those products that has quietly done its job for years.

Simple Baby Bath Seat

I gave ours away after my last baby, so this is one of the few inexpensive basics I actually need to buy again. Don’t overcomplicate this one—it won’t be used forever.

100% Cotton Burp Cloths

Nothing fancy needed. They get washed constantly, thrown into bags, and used for everything.

Muslin Blankets

Another inexpensive multitasker that ends up being used for approximately 100 things besides being a blanket.

Parade Organics Double-Zip Onesies

The baby clothes I actually keep and reuse. I love a double zipper, and some of ours have made it through both kids.

Dr. Noze Best NozeBot

If ours disappeared tomorrow, I would replace it immediately. Enough said. 😂

Haakaa

One of the simplest breastfeeding products I used with both babies.

Momcozy Pump

The pump I reach for when I actually need one because it’s portable and doesn’t turn pumping into an entire production.

Poncho-Style Nursing Cover

Simple, inexpensive, and my preferred style because it gives me plenty of coverage without baby easily kicking the whole thing off.

The Few Things That Deserve a Little More Explanation

Some of these products have been with us long enough that I have a little more to say about them.

Bugaboo Donkey 5

We bought our Bugaboo Donkey when I had my first child because I already knew there was a good chance we would have another baby.

I wanted something that could start as a single and eventually convert into a double so we wouldn’t have to replace our entire stroller when our family grew.

Almost five years later, it’s still going strong.

We used it as a single, converted it to a double for baby #2, and now we’re keeping it for baby #3 and adding the ride-on board for my oldest.

I haven’t had to replace any of the actual moving parts. The things I’ve replaced have mostly been cosmetic—and at least some of that is my fault for leaving it sitting in the Florida sun for way too long. 😂

If I had to choose one expensive baby purchase that was absolutely worth the money for our family, this would be it.

Dr. Noze Best NozeBot

This is one baby product I genuinely swear by.

The first time your tiny baby gets congested, it can feel so stressful because they obviously can’t blow their own nose.

The NozeBot has made those situations so much more manageable for us.

I already own ours, so I won’t be buying another for baby #3.

But if ours disappeared tomorrow?

I would replace it immediately.

That’s probably the best test of whether I truly think a baby product is worth the money. 😂

The Baby Carriers I’m Keeping

I still have my Solly Baby Wrap, Sakura Bloom Ring Sling, Sakura Bloom Onbuhimo and Mabe Monarch, and I’ll happily use all of them again.

I use them differently depending on the baby’s age, where we’re going and what feels easiest that day.

For the tiny newborn stage, I especially love having something soft and simple that keeps baby close.

I already have everything I need here, so this is one category where I’m buying absolutely nothing new.

My Very Simple Breastfeeding Setup

I’ve always breastfed and generally try to keep feeding as simple as possible.

Quite frankly, boobs are already attached and I don’t have to wash, pack or remember them. 😂

I’ll be reusing my Boppy, Haakaa and poncho-style nursing covers. If I actually need to pump, my Momcozy is the one I reach for because it’s portable and doesn’t make pumping feel like an entire production.

If we introduce bottles, I’ll personally be looking for bottles with glass bottoms rather than plastic.

That’s about it.

What I’m NOT Buying for Baby #3

After two kids, I’m also much more comfortable admitting when we simply don’t need something.

A Giant Diaper Bag

I am officially over carrying half the nursery everywhere we go. 😂

Instead, I keep a larger backup kit in the car with extra diapers, wipes, clothes, snacks and emergency baby supplies.

Then I carry only what we’re actually likely to need while we’re out.

Almost any tote bag I already own can handle that, although I’m considering the Mini Mae this time around for something small and simple.

A Baby Monitor

I’ve never really used one.

There isn’t a dramatic reason behind it. My babies have typically napped close enough to me that I simply never felt like we needed one.

It’s also a perfect example of why I don’t love giant “must-have baby” lists anymore. Something can be absolutely essential for one family and completely unnecessary for another.

A Ton of Baby Clothes

Babies grow SO fast, and clothing is also one of the things everyone loves buying for a new baby.

For the early months, give me some comfortable double-zip onesies and call it a day.

Babies Really Don’t Need That Much

That’s probably the biggest thing I’ve learned after two babies.

Babies really don’t need nearly as much stuff as we think they do.

A safe place to sleep, clothes, diapers, a way to eat, and a handful of products that make your everyday life easier go a very long way.

I’d much rather reuse the things I already love than start over simply because something newer exists.

Keep it simple. Reuse what works. Spend the money on the things that genuinely make your life easier.

Baby #3, we’re ready for you. 🤍
