14 Tried + True Baby Items I’m Reusing for Baby #3

After two babies, these are the products that actually earned a third round.
By baby number three, I’ve realized how much baby stuff we simply did not need the first time around. 😂
After using baby gear through two kids, I’m much more selective about what earns a place in our home. At this point, I know what actually got used, what held up, what made life easier, and what I’m perfectly happy pulling back out instead of buying all over again.
These are the products that survived two kids and are coming back for baby #3 — plus the few things I would genuinely buy again if I had to start over.

Bugaboo Donkey 5
Our biggest baby splurge and still one of my favorite purchases years later.
Bugaboo Turtle Air by Nuna Infant Car Seat
We already own it, it works with our stroller setup, and ours is still within its usable date — so there’s no reason for us to start over with a new travel system.
Sakura Bloom Carriers
I’ve kept my ring sling and Onbuhimo because I use different carriers at different stages and for different outings.
Mabe Monarch Carrier
Another carrier already in my rotation that I’ll happily pull back out instead of buying something new. Probably my favorite for simple on & off.
Solly Baby Wrap
One of my favorite carriers for that tiny newborn stage.
Arm’s Reach Clear-Vue Co-Sleeper
A simple newborn sleep setup that lets me keep baby close without overcomplicating things. Also, so convenient to roll around while baby is napping!
Poncho-Style Nursing Cover
Simple, inexpensive, and the style I prefer because it gives plenty of coverage without baby easily kicking the whole thing off.
Dr. Noze Best NozeBot
One of the few baby products I would immediately replace if ours disappeared.
Boppy Nursing Pillow
Simple, comfortable, and something I reach for constantly during the newborn stage.
Haakaa
A breastfeeding staple I used with both of my babies.
Momcozy Pump
The pump I reach for when I actually need one because it’s portable and doesn’t turn pumping into an entire production.
Coterie Diapers + Wipes
We’ve personally had a great experience with them, and the subscription makes one recurring baby task ridiculously easy. Used them through baby #1 and #2 and will be doing so for baby #3. Simple Baby Bath Seat
I gave ours away after my last baby, so this is one of the few inexpensive basics I’ll actually need to buy again. Don't overcomplicate it because it will not be used forever.
100% Cotton Burp Cloths
Nothing fancy needed. They get washed constantly, thrown into bags, and used for everything.
Muslin Blankets
Another inexpensive multitasker that ends up being used for approximately 100 things besides being a blanket.
HALO Swaddles + Sleep Sacks
Simple, practical, and used through multiple babies.
Hatch Sound Machine
One of those products that has quietly done its job for years.

The baby clothes I actually keep and reuse.
1. Bugaboo Donkey 5 Stroller
We bought our Bugaboo Donkey when I had my first child because I already knew there was a good chance we would have at least one more baby.
I wanted a stroller that could start as a single and eventually convert into a double so I wouldn’t have to completely replace our stroller when our family grew.
Years later, this thing is still going strong.
I haven’t had to replace any of the actual moving parts. The only things I’ve swapped have been cosmetic, mostly because of my own choices and because I once left the stroller sitting in the Florida sun for way too long. 😂
When we started thinking about baby #3, we debated wagons, additional strollers, baby wearing setups, and basically every possible combination.
Ultimately, we decided we really don’t need to reinvent anything.
We’re keeping the Donkey and adding the ride-on board for my oldest.
The stroller has grown with our family, survived years of regular use, and still works beautifully.
I genuinely can’t imagine replacing it just because something newer exists.
I’m also putting together a separate full review because this stroller has easily been one of my favorite baby purchases ever.
2. Dr. Noze Best NozeBot
Okay, THIS is one baby product I genuinely swear by.
The first time your tiny baby gets congested, it can feel so stressful because they obviously can’t blow their own nose.
The NozeBot has been one of those products that makes that situation feel much more manageable for us.
I already own ours, so I won’t be buying another one for baby #3.
But if ours disappeared tomorrow?
I would replace it immediately.
That is probably the best test of whether I truly think a baby product is worth the money. 😂

3. Baby Carriers I’m Reusing
I still have all of my baby carriers from my daughter and son, and I’m happily using them again.
I have:

I honestly use them differently depending on the baby’s age, where we’re going, and what feels easiest that day.
For the tiny newborn stage, I especially love having something soft and simple that keeps baby close.
I won’t be buying another carrier this time because I already have everything I need.
4. HALO Swaddles + Sleep Sacks
We’ve always used HALO swaddles and sleep sacks, and thankfully I already have several to reuse.
They’re simple, easy to use, and have held up through multiple kids.
This is exactly the kind of baby product I love: nothing complicated, nothing trendy, just something we actually used over and over again.
5. Hatch Sound Machine
We have a simple Hatch sound machine and have used it for naps and nighttime with our babies for years.
It’s one of those products I barely think about because it just quietly does its job.
And honestly, those are usually some of the best baby products.
No need to replace it. No need to upgrade it.
It’s coming right back out for baby #3.
6. The Same Infant Car Seat
I’ll also be reusing our Bugaboo Turtle Air by Nuna infant car seat.
It’s still in great condition and, most importantly, it is still within its usable date.
Always check the expiration date and current manufacturer guidance for your own car seat before reusing one.
Because I already have the infant car seat attachment for our Bugaboo Donkey, there’s absolutely no reason for me to start over with an entirely new travel system.
7. A Simple Co-Sleeper for the Newborn Stage
For the first few weeks at home, I use the Arm’s Reach Clear-Vue Co-Sleeper.
I like keeping the newborn stage very simple.
Having baby close by works well for us without feeling like we need a nursery full of equipment immediately.
Our sleep setup changes as baby gets older, but this has worked really well for those first weeks.
8. Breastfeeding Essentials I’m Reusing
I’ve always breastfed and generally try to keep feeding as simple as possible.
Quite frankly, boobs are already attached and I don’t have to wash, pack, or remember them. 😂
One thing I do like having is a simple poncho-style nursing cover.
It drapes over you and has an opening at the top, which I like because baby can’t easily kick the entire thing off if you prefer a little more coverage while feeding.
It’s inexpensive, and I usually keep two.
I also still love my Boppy nursing pillow.
I have the pillow from my previous babies, so I’ll most likely just buy a fresh cover this time.
9. Haakaa + Pumping Only If I Need It
I may try pumping slightly more with this baby just to give myself a little flexibility, but I still don’t plan on making things complicated.
I love my Haakaa and used it with both of my previous babies.
It’s one of those simple breastfeeding products that earned its place in my baby bin.
If I need an actual pump, my Momcozy is the one I reach for.
I like that it’s portable and doesn’t make pumping feel like an entire production.
If we introduce bottles, I’ll personally be looking for bottles with glass bottoms rather than plastic.
10. Coterie Diapers + Wipes
I’ve used Coterie diapers and wipes with my kids and plan to continue with baby #3.
The subscription delivery is incredibly convenient, and we’ve personally had a good experience with them.
At this point, they’re another category where I don’t feel the need to reinvent the wheel.
We know what works for our family, so I’m sticking with it.
11. Parade Organics Double-Zip Onesies
Baby clothes are one category where I really think less is more.
Babies grow incredibly fast, and clothing is also one of the things family and friends love to buy.
It is very easy to end up with more outfits than your baby could possibly wear before growing into the next size.
For the early months, I love a double-zip onesie and honestly let my babies live in them.
Some of my favorites have been from Parade Organics.
They’ve held up really well for us, and I still have some that made it through both my daughter and son.
They also have plenty of simple colors and prints that are easy to reuse.
12. A Simple Baby Bath Seat
For bath time, I keep things extremely basic.
A simple, inexpensive baby bath seat is plenty for us.
I gave ours away after my last baby, so this is one of the few things I’ll actually be replacing before baby #3 arrives.
No elaborate bath setup necessary.
13. Cotton Burp Cloths + Muslin Blankets
This is another category where I don’t think you need anything fancy.
I buy simple cotton burp cloths and muslin blankets and call it a day.
They get spit up on, washed constantly, thrown into bags, used as makeshift covers, cleanup cloths, blankets, and approximately 100 other things.
Definitely not an area where I feel the need to splurge.
14. My Minimal Diaper Bag System
After two kids, I am officially over giant diaper bags. 😂
I used to carry what felt like half the nursery everywhere we went.
Eventually I realized we rarely needed most of it.
Now I prefer keeping a larger backup kit in the car with things like:
Extra diapers and wipes
A change of clothes
Backup snacks
Extra baby supplies
Anything I’d want in a true emergency
Then I carry only the basics we’re actually likely to need while we’re out.
Almost any tote bag I already own can handle that. I actually think I am going to purchase the Mini Mae this time around as a simple carry.
It is so much easier than hauling around a massive diaper bag everywhere.
What I’m Skipping for Baby #3
One thing I’ve never really used is a baby monitor.
There isn’t any dramatic reason behind it.
My babies have typically napped close enough to me that I simply never felt like we needed one.
It’s also a good reminder that something can be absolutely essential for one family and completely unnecessary for another.
That’s why I’m much less interested in giant “must-have baby lists” now.
After a few babies, you start figuring out what your own family actually needs.
My Biggest Baby Splurge That Was Absolutely Worth It
If I had to choose one luxury baby purchase that has been worth every penny for our family, it would still be the Bugaboo Donkey.
It started with our first baby, converted when our second came along, and now it’s heading into another chapter with baby #3.
Few baby products actually stay relevant through that many stages of family life.
This one has.
Babies Really Don’t Need That Much
The biggest thing I’ve learned after having multiple babies is that babies really don’t need nearly as much as we think they do.
A safe place to sleep, clothes, diapers, a way to eat, and a handful of products that make your own life easier go a very long way.
I’d much rather reuse the things I already love and know work for our family than start over simply because a newer version exists.
Keep it simple.
Reuse what works.
And spend the money on the things that genuinely make your everyday life easier.
